Myth of Chardaan
About Chardaan:
Chardaan Etymology:
Chardaan is like Chardon in Sioux and in French.
In Sioux, Chardon means Sand bar, or the sandy space which extends along the bank of a river.
In French, Chardon means Thistle, or a herbaceous plant which produces thorns.
Planetary Ecological features:
Chardaan is home to many rivers which lead to the two great world rivers, which gorge deep into the planets crust in parallel, there the water reaches intense temperatures and is evaporated, creating a region of fog and mist and steam, which the winds carry to the Hyhallus Mountains where the water precipitates into the waterfalls which forms the sources of the many rivers.
The two great world rivers rush so violently, that they cut deeply into the crust and its many constituent minerals, creating an jagged gorge filled with many caverns formed from millennia of rushing water cutting into the planets crust. There great underground thistle forests grow, the thistles take hundreds of years to cut through, unless you have a lightsaber with 3 focusing crystals, with at least one being a Yuniter crystal.
The rest of the landscape which lays the foundation for the river system, is a series of hills and prairies and bluffs. Amidst which are many gorges and ravines which accompany the rivers.
Planetary Geopolitical history:
Chardaan was part of the Pallis Oversector (Sector 16), it was charted during the exploration of the Hydian Way.
Chardaan was headquarters for the 16th Sector Army of the Grand Army of the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars. It became an Imperial Planet after the Reformation of the Republic into an Empire.
The Imperials built an orbital shipyard called the Chardaan Shipyards, during the Galactic Civil War, Rebels infiltrated the Planet and took over the shipyards, which were used to produce Fighters for the Rebel Alliance to Restore the Republic, and later the New Republic.
The shipyards were later destroyed by Colonel Ivan Cronus of the Crimson Command.
